In NorthernBeachesAthletics most of the athletes are prepared based on a schedule of targeted events and they are expected to reach their peak performances as close to those event dates as possible. eg. (being the Australian championships, or State championships or World master championships, etc.)

A 5-8 weeks program cycle is used for each of the following training periods/phases:

a) endurance or establishment of a new base,

b) pre competition,

c) peaking/competition.

This approach enables athletes to peak more than one times during the year. It also enables young and master athletes to compete in both the southern and northern hemispheres in indoors and outdoor events without compromising their performances.
